Policies

At Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork, I strive to create a respectful and safe environment for my clients. Respect and clear communication are the cornerstone of any therapeutic relationship. Please take a moment to read through my policies.

  • As a Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) and Massage Therapist (LMT), I follow a Code of Ethics the State of Texas dictates. All information clients provide, both written and verbal, will remain confidential.

I treat clients ethically and fairly and establish an atmosphere of trust and respect during each session. I ask the same of my clients in return.

Please advise your therapist of any pain, discomfort, or areas you want to focus on or avoid. I can adjust the pressure and techniques accordingly to ensure your comfort.

I want all my clients to feel physically, psychologically, and emotionally safe.

As a PT/LMT, I aim to assist clients in meeting their goals of relaxation, stress reduction, and pain management. I use Swedish, Therapeutic, and Mat-Based Therapy Massage techniques and assisted stretching.

  • It is the client's responsibility to disclose medical history on an intake form by the first appointment to ensure there are no contraindications (a condition or circumstance indicating that massage or stretching is unsafe). Clients are asked to include past surgeries, injuries, trauma, and anything they feel is necessary to note.

Clients are asked to share any changes in their health, diagnoses, treatments, illnesses, or conditions as sessions progress.

Clients may be asked to provide written permission from a physician, midwife, nurse practitioner, etc., that massage and stretch therapy are safe for them to receive in particular circumstances, such as pregnancy.

  • For privacy and comfort, draping is required during the entire massage; only the area being worked on will be exposed. There will be no exposure of genitals at any time. If a client feels they are subject to inappropriate behavior or anything that makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please speak up so adjustments can be made.

  • We request that you prepare for your session in a clean, odor-free state. If you have any issues to address, contagious conditions, or infections, please inform me before your session so adjustments can be made (i.e., using gloves) can be made where necessary.

  • Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork has a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior and comments. If a client displays inappropriate behavior, assaults the therapist, or makes inappropriate comments, the session will end immediately.

The client will be charged the full amount for the session, and the therapist will leave immediately. No future appointments will be accepted. I reserve the right to call the police and file a report.

  • Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork understands and respects the hectic schedules of clients. When given sufficient notice, appointments may be moved, or accommodations may be made. Please understand that operating hours are limited, and I am often booked in advance. There is no charge for cancellations received at least 48 hours in advance. If a client must cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, they may be charged 50% of the amount of your scheduled appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 100% of the amount of the scheduled appointment.

  • Clients are asked to please be available at their home for their appointment 15 minutes before the start time. Being available allows the therapist to set up for the session and perform massage/stretch therapy for the scheduled period of time.

If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time so that appointments following yours can begin on time. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for paying for the full session.

  • In the event that a client fails to show up for their appointment without giving notice, they will be charged 100% of the cost for the session. An invoice will be sent to the email on file and/or the card on file will be charged.

Future appointments can only be booked once the balance is paid. I reserve the right to refuse future services after a no-call/show. No call/showing two times will result in the automatic firing of the client, and future appointments will not be available.

  • Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork asks that clients please call If they are feeling ill or have a fever. It is in both of our best interests to reschedule appointments in this case.

Likewise, please understand if I ask to reschedule because I'm feeling ill.

Massage/bodywork may not be advised for some medical conditions. If a massage could be potentially harmful to a client, Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork reserves the right to decline to perform the massage.

  • Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork prioritizes the safety of myself and my clients and realizes there are emergency situations caused by inclement weather, such as severe thunderstorms, hurricanes, or flooding. Should an event occur during a client's appointment, they will be contacted via phone or text to reschedule. I ask that clients contact me by phone or text to reschedule as soon as possible if there is inclement weather/flooding in their area and your home is not accessible.
