Meet your therapist, Robin

At one point in my life, my chronic stress, burnout, and anxiety would cause me to have panic attacks and keep me up at night. I was on the struggle bus, but I was about to have an experience that made me realize the importance of touch and massage on the nervous system.

One day, I was receiving a facial, and it was customary for my esthetician to massage my neck, shoulders, and arms during the session. My nervous system had been so on edge that once I felt her touch, it was like a switch went off, and I immediately relaxed and went to sleep. It felt amazing because I’d been struggling with insomnia due to my anxiety.  That was the first time I experienced how powerful a safe and compassionate touch could be for the nervous system and how powerful a modality, like massage, can be to help regulate the nervous system and decrease stress and anxiety.

Robin Suire Massage Therapist Houston Texas

Hey, I’m Robin

I specialize in massage therapy for stress relief and relaxation for busy women in the comfort of their own homes. I want to give you a pause– a moment to breathe, relax, and be pampered.

My interest in specializing in massage therapy, specifically for women dealing with stress and anxiety, developed from my own experience with stress, anxiety, and depression and my experience as a Women’s Health Physical Therapist. Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork was born out of love for every superwoman looking for a bit of the soft life. Balancing life, work, and countless responsibilities can be overwhelming. When I became a massage therapist, I wanted to help ease emotional stressors in addition to improving clients' pain, flexibility, and mobility.

I am a licensed physical therapist, licensed massage therapist, and owner of Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia in 2004. With my love of the body and anatomy, I continued my graduate studies and graduated with a Master in Physical Therapy in 2006. More recently, I completed a massage therapy program at the Avalon School of Massage in 2023.

While those accomplishments and credentials give me a sense of pride, I spent years in traditional physical therapy settings, anxious, overwhelmed, and burnt out. My personal experiences with burnout led me to start Optimize Therapeutic Bodywork.

I wanted to use my knowledge as a women’s health physical therapist and be able to provide 1-on-1 care to help individuals with pain, flexibility, and mobility. Now, I’m pivoting to assisting women in dealing with stress and anxiety through a compassionate touch.

How would you like to relax?

  • Therapeutic Relaxation Massage

During this massage, we focus on one area of tension & provide a relaxing session to the rest of the body. Designed to care for your muscles while inducing deep relaxation to quiet the mind, I use soothing Swedish massage techniques of compression, light to medium-pressure strokes, and gentle kneading to melt away stress, ease muscle tension, and leave you feeling calm.

  • Fascial Stretch Therapy

FST is a unique system of assisted stretching that targets fascia, muscles, and joints. The technique uses movement through a series of stretches to unlock tension in the deepest layers of tissues. The goal is to unwind fascia restrictions, relax the nervous system's hold on the tissue, and open up the joint space by stretching the fascia and muscles throughout the body. This service is performed on a massage table fully clothed.

  • Mat-Based Therapy

Similar to Thai Massage, this modality uses compression and stretching techniques to improve flexibility and mobility. It’s sometimes referred to as “lazy man’s yoga.” This modality is performed clothed on a traditional Thai floor mat. I will use my feet, knees, forearms, and hands throughout the session.

  • Pregnancy Massage Therapy

Also called prenatal massage, my goal is to help you feel your best during your pregnancy journey. During your massage, you will be situated in a comfortable side-lying or semi-reclined position, with ample bolstering to ensure your and your baby’s comfort and safety. Depending on your trimester and any symptoms you are presenting, I will customize your massage specifically for you.

  • ‘Knead to Stretch’ Signature Service

Experience the best of both worlds with our unique fusion of assisted stretching and massage therapy. The session is tailored just for you, seamlessly blending the benefits of targeted stretching and soothing massage. This service combines the following modalities: Mat-Based Massage Therapy or FST & Therapeutic Relaxation Massage.

  • "Robin is exceptionally talented and thoughtful in her approach. Because of my own background in fitness and therapy , I'm super selective on who I allow to work on me. Robin is one of the very few that I have total confidence in. Aside from her skill set as a physical therapist, she's continued to learn and grow a therapeutic provider. Highly recommend her!"

  • "I have had the pleasure of having sessions with Robin for years. I had spinal surgery in 2018 and initially suffered constant pain, tightness, and limited mobility. Consistently having sessions with Robin and taking the stretch homework seriously, the results are amazing. I have more range in my neck, hips, and back. The pain and tightness have been greatly reduced. Beyond her expert knowledge of the human body, she is professional and courteous."
