What is Mat-Based Therapy?
Most mat-based therapy modalities have their foundations in Thai Massage. Mat-based Therapy is a wonderful way to alleviate stress, muscle tension, and anxiety while also calming the nervous system. This modality uses compression and stretching techniques to improve flexibility and mobility. It’s sometimes referred to as “lazy man’s yoga.” It is performed clothed on a traditional Thai floor mat. I will use my feet, knees, forearms, and hands throughout the session.
